A variety of living facilities are available on campus for seminarians and other graduate students. The Calian Residence Hall offers single living quarters with private baths, a modest physical fitness center, lounges, and a student kitchen. Calian Hall also provides space for overnight guest housing at reasonable rates. Apartment buildings offer units ranging from efficiencies to family oriented three- and four-bedroom units.

A commitment fee of $300 is required when the housing application is submitted. This amount will be applied to your security deposit, which is equal to one month’s rent. The balance (the difference between one month’s rent minus the $300 commitment fee) is due upon arrival. Students who relinquish their housing request forfeit their $300 commitment fee.

PTS offers housing to a variety of graduate students studying at a Pittsburgh institution! If you are a PTS student, you must be enrolled as a full-time student. If you are a student at a PCHE school, you must be enrolled in either a master’s or doctorate program. Post-doctoral students and undergraduate students (to include students pursuing their second undergraduate degree) do not qualify for housing at PTS.
The Housing Office has received your application and will reach out within 3 business days. This would be a great time to ensure that you have submitted the $300 commitment fee. The Housing Office will not consider any applications without a commitment fee; it can be paid here.

Your security deposit is one month’s rent (see Rent above). Your key deposit is $25. Please note that your lease will not be issued until the deposits have been paid.
Because PTS is student housing the end date is generally May 31. Updated leases will not be sent for different end dates. All leases can be ended with two weeks’ notice.
Our Business Office needs to sign the lease too; this can take up to 3 business days. If we are outside of that time, e-mail and we will take a look!
If you will be arriving between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, you can pick up your keys at the Reception Office in Long Hall at 616 North Highland Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206. If you will be arriving outside of those hours or during the weekend, you can contact campus security at 412-889-2208 after you arrive on campus. The security guard will have your keys.

If you are moving in to Fulton, the best place to park a moving truck is in our parking lot behind the building. If you are moving into Maple or Alder, parking on St. Marie Street will be most convenient.
No, PTS does not have parking permits or passes. All PTS residents are welcome to park on campus. Maple and Alder residents have access to street parking.

As student housing, billing, at this time is posted once per semester. This occurs two weeks after the beginning of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary classes and coincides with the end of add/drop. The lease we issued has what the semester charge is going to be. Fall is 4 months, Spring is 5 months, and Summer is 3 months. The monthly rates are listed above under PTS/Non-PTS rates. Feel free to do the math and figure out what is owed! If there is an overpayment, we will issue a refund or apply it to next semester’s bill.
Because PTS housing is student housing, we only bill residents on a semester basis. We understand that sometimes our students need to pay month to month. That is not a problem! The monthly rates are listed above under PTS/Non-PTS rates. Please note that the account must have a zero balance by the 1st of the final month of the semester. The final months of the semesters are August for the Summer Semester, December for the Fall Semester, and May for the Spring Semester. Please note that having a balance at the end of a semester may impact your eligibility to stay in PTS housing.
In Fulton and Calian, requests can be submitted on My.PTS.edu. Login to the account and choose the “Tenant” link on the ribbon near the top of the webpage. From here, there is a “Housing/Maintenance Issue” box. In the case of an emergency, call 412-889-2208.
In Maple and Alder, call 412-400-0084. NDC Management maintains those apartments. NDC Management oversees all storage lockers, access to Wi-Fi, utilities, and all facility requests.
PTS does not provide air conditioning units. Our residents have to purchase window units, and we are more than happy to install them! Please submit a request through the My.PTS.edu portal and we will come to the room and set it up!
If you live in Maple or Alder, PTS cannot provide or install your A/C unit. Please contact NDC Management at 412-400-0084.
If you live in Calian Hall or Fulton Apartments, you can choose PTS_Wireless and logon using your My.PTS.edu credentials. If you would like your own Wi-Fi provider, you can make an appointment with a provider of your choice and they can get you set up with personal Wi-Fi.
If you live in Maple or Alder, the Wi-Fi password is in the regulations provided with your lease. If you want faster Wi-Fi, providers that offer a wireless option are the best alternatives.
Wipe down and clean the entire apartment. Remove everything that you own. Send an e-mail to letting us know that you have moved out. Leave your keys on the counter and lock the handle on your way out. If you have a key card, it will stop working on your move out day. Please note you will continue to be charged rent until the Housing Office receives an e-mail confirming that you have moved out.
Send an e-mail to two to four weeks prior to your updated move out date so that the Housing Office can update their records. Please note that if you have a key card, it will stop working on your new move out day.
It is crucial that the Housing Office receives an e-mail with your requested move-out date. It is possible that your apartment is needed for the next tenant and PTS will not be able to accommodate your request. If you have a key card, it will stop working on your lease expiration date unless we receive an updated date from you.
The Housing Office will send you a lease renewal between 5 and 10 business days before your current lease expires. If you have not received a renewal and your current lease expires in more than 10 days please be patient, we will reach out!
