If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider spending time at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with our new Clergy Study Stays program through the Office of Continuing Education. Meant for those in full-time ministry leadership—ordained or not—this program is an invitation to stay on campus mid-week for self-directed study and learning in our beautifully renovated Barbour Library. While you’re here, you’ll also have access to lunch in the campus dining room and mid-week worship in Hicks Chapel. Enjoy our hospitable spaces and services while engaging spiritually and intellectually in ways that can only happen with time away from daily rhythms.

No. The time is for you to use how you see fit. Whether you’re doing academic or congregational research and planning, or simply need time on the Seminary campus to stimulate your intellect and worship from the pews, our purpose is to offer you a hospitable space at an affordable price.
Our guest rooms in Calian Hall have two single beds, private bath, study desk and table, alarm clock, cable television, wireless Internet access, telephone with voicemail, air conditioning, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. Two of our rooms are handicap accessible. A community kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and snack machines is located on the ground floor of Calian Hall. A modest physical fitness center is also open to guests.
Check-in: Arrivals between 12:00 and 4:0 p.m. may check in at Reception in Long Hall. Arrivals after 4:00 p.m. must call campus security (number posted on exterior doors), and someone will meet you at the exterior door of Calian Hall with your room key.

During the semester, worship services in Hicks Chapel are usually offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Tuesday worship is a Service of Word, and Thursday worship is a Service of Word and Table. Contact the week before your stay for the most up to date schedule.
A hot lunch is served on campus for purchase most Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Kadel Dining Hall. You will be given one voucher for lunch per night of lodging. Coffee and snacks are always available for purchase in the Peters Café in the Library. Breakfast and dinner will be on your own.
Yes! Groups of up to six people are invited to reserve your stay together, based on availability, for the purpose of collegial study and reflection.
In most cases, no. This time is meant for self-directed study, not as a vacation. But if you believe it would be helpful or necessary to have a partner, spouse, or children with you, contact with your request. Permissions will be given on a case-by-case basis.
