Barbour Library invites you to celebrate Poetry Month with our first-ever Haiku Contest!
- Submissions will be received April 1 to April 25. All PTS students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate!
- Haikus must be submitted via the online form. They can be about any topic or subject, but must be original and follow the 5+7+5 rule.
- You may submit more than one haiku, but can only win one prize. Haikus will be blind judged by a faculty, staff, and student representative as well as library staff. There will be prizes for the top three haikus!
What is a haiku?
- A traditional Japanese poem compromised of three lines with 17 syllables
- It follows the 5+7+5 rule:
An old silent pond... 5
A frog jumps into the pond, 7
splash! Silence again. 5
