Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will host a week-long spiritual leadership course Sept. 19-24, 2010. N. Graham Standish, pastor of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, Pa. will facilitate the discussion. Participants will explore “Spiritual Leadership: How to Lead Others With Spiritual Depth, Vision, and Skill.”

This class will help pastors and other church leaders understand how to be leaders with a rich interior life that translates into inspiring others to respond to God’s call. Discussions focus more on how individual leaders can inspire and nurture churches and communities to grow spiritually and otherwise through their own spiritual growth.

Standish came to Calvin Presbyterian Church as pastor in 1996. Over the past 12 years, Calvin Church has more than doubled in size, and it has garnered national attention in several studies, including one by Diana Butler-Bass, who included Calvin in her groundbreaking book, Christianity for the Rest of Us. Graham holds a doctorate in formative spirituality from Duquesne University, an M.S.W. from the University of Pittsburgh, and an M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He is the author of six books, including most recently, In God’s Presence: Encountering, Experiencing, and Embracing the Holy in Worship (2010).

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary is a graduate professional institution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A). Founded in 1794, the Seminary is located in Pittsburgh, Pa. and approximately 320 students are enrolled yearly in the degree programs.
