Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will host the Most Rev. Michael Curry, the 27th presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church, Feb. 3-4, 2017, as part of his pilgrimage for reconciliation, healing, and evangelism in Southwestern Pennsylvania. During the Jesus Movement in Pittsburgh, Bishop Curry will lead worship, preach, listen, and speak at a series of events centered around two themes central to his ministry: evangelism and racial reconciliation. Pittsburgh is the first of five revivals he will conduct in dioceses throughout the Episcopal Church.

“We are honored to partner with the Episcopal Church to host Bishop Curry at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary,” said the Rev. Dr. David Esterline, president and professor of cross-cultural theological education. “His pilgrimage for reconciliation and healing will help us form a Covenant of Hope to renew God’s work in all our communities.”

The Service of Repentance and Reconciliation will be held Fri., Feb. 3, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Seminary. Curry will address leaders of churches across the region and pray for unity. On Sat., Feb. 4, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. all are invited again to the Seminary to gather with Bishop Curry and local leaders. We will listen, learn, and begin to bridge the divides of race and denomination, to engage together in three great works: to help bring recovery from addiction, development out of poverty, and the hope of Jesus into the lives of those around us.

The full list of Bishop Curry’s travels can be found on the website of the Episcopal Dioceses of Pittsburgh: http://www.episcopalpgh.org/pbvisit/.
