Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will cosponsor with the Alban Institute “Engaging Stories to Lead God’s People: Narrative Leadership in Changing Times,” March 18-20. The Rev. Larry Goleman, the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Jones, and the Rev. Dr. Robert Anderson, will lead the conference for interim and transformational ministers.

The value of story-telling has long been recognized, but the benefits of integrating story into the practice of ministry are only now being developed fully. Participants will explore their own stories and learn how to incorporate them into their ministry.

Larry Goleman is a research associate at the Alban Institute who coordinates the Narrative Leadership, Transition into Ministry, and other projects. He is ordained in the PC(USA), has served as a theological educator in Asia and the U.S., and was recently a researcher and co-author of the Carnegie Foundation’s study of theological education, Educating Clergy. Carolyn Jones is an experienced interim pastor and seminar leader whose interim service includes work with both congregations and governing bodies. She was also Executive Presbyter of Washington Presbytery. Carolyn is currently serving as director of Field Education at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Bob Anderson is a certified interim pastor who has served churches and governing bodies as a transitional leader for more than 20 years. He recently served as Interim Executive Presbyter at Whitewater Valley Presbytery in Indianapolis, and currently serves as pastor to the Pittsburgh Presbytery.
