This new cyber world we live in is shifting faster than you can hit ctrl-alt-delete. This workshop will explore the nuances of our cyber-lives in relation to our professions and vocations, how we are tangled up, and how we can sharpen our processes of ethical discernment in relationship to it all.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Learn strategies for developing policies, procedures, and practices around online activity within their context of service;
  2. Understand how to handle boundary issues in the use of social media with the goal of preserving the safety of both self and those served;
  3. Discern with colleagues the possibilities and challenges of having a private life on social media as clergy and mental health professionals.
