Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will host “Context for Ignatian Discernment Today” Fri., April 16 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the John Knox Room, Long Hall. The Rev. Howard J. Gray, S.J., special assistant to the president, Georgetown University, Washington, DC will be the keynote speaker.

In his presentation, Gray will address the context today for a discerning heart; an “ordered decision” about life and mission; and discernment, spiritual direction, and love of neighbor.

Gray, a nationally recognized expert on Ignatian spirituality, earned his bachelor’s, licentiates in both philosophy and theology from Loyola University of Chicago, and his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin. He has written extensively in spiritual theology, Ignatian spirituality and higher education, and has remained active in teaching throughout his career even while assuming a number of leadership positions within the Jesuit Order. For his work as a teacher, a thinker, a writer, and a leader, Gray has received six honorary degrees.
