The Board of Directors of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary has elected three new members: the Rev. Dr. Thomas (Tom) Harmon ’16, the Rev. Noah Morgan ’24, and the Rev. Christopher (Chris) Weichman ’98.
The Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon is the executive presbyter of Beaver-Butler Presbytery. In this role, he serves as an advisor to the Synod of the Trinity’s Governing Commission and the Synod’s African American Network. In addition to 14 years of pastoral ministry at congregations in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Tom has served in two presbyteries as presbytery moderator and chairperson of the council. His additional leadership experience includes adaptive leadership consulting work with Pneumatrix and service as president of the council of bishops and judicatory executives for Christian Associates of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Dedication to continuous learning and academic excellence led him to earn his doctor of ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
The Rev. Noah Morgan graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2024 with a master of divinity degree. Born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Richmond, Va., Noah is the son of a Presbyterian minister and a teacher. Growing up a “pastor’s kid” meant Noah’s family life revolved around the Church, and this is where he developed a passion for the ministry and a love for Jesus Christ. Noah graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., where he studied religion, sociology, and ethics. He is the pastor of Hebron Presbyterian Church in Manakin-Sabot, Va. While a student at PTS, Noah served as the Student Association president and was a member of the Chapel Team. Noah is passionate about theological education and forming diverse ministry leaders for the future. He will serve as the student representative to the Board.
The Rev. Chris Weichman graduated from Westminster College in 1989 and from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1998. Chris’s work in ministry began at Hosanna Industries, a Christian housing ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Pa. At Pittsburgh Seminary, Chris served on the first advisory board of World Mission Initiative, and he was the first student sent by WMI to serve Kurdish refugees in Berlin, Germany, from 1996 to 1997. Chris has served churches in Grove City, Pa., Atlanta, Ga., and New Castle, Pa., and is now pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Erie, Pa. He has served on the board of Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship and is currently on the board of The Outreach Foundation. Chris will serve as the alumnae/i representative to the Board.
