Online Class Addresses Church Administration

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will offer the online continuing education course “Church Administration” April 16-June 8, 2012. Wayne Yost, general presbyter of Kiskiminetas Presbytery, will lead the course.

This course will focus on the biblical and theological foundations for church administration; look at the mission, ministry, and maintenance of the church; help participants think about their leadership style; and examine stewardship, budgeting, and program development and implementation. Material will be especially well-suited to those serving in small to mid-size congregations. The course is intended to be interactive with participants regularly engaged in online discussions.

Yost has served in small to midsize congregations for 17 years. Currently, he is in his 22nd year as general presbyter of Kiskiminetas Presbytery. Yost is certified by the National Association of Church Business Administrators. His D.Min., from Eden Seminary, focused on improving the effectiveness of church committees. Yost has taught online courses for Dubuque Theological Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in polity and church administration.
