Master of Sacred Theology
Studies leading to the Master of Sacred Theology Degree are designed to provide an opportunity for continued academic work beyond the Master of Divinity Degree. The goals of this course of studies include the ability to demonstrate an advanced understanding of an issue within a specific theological discipline; a capacity to use research methods and resources in the discipline, and an ability to formulate appropriate research questions.
Requirements
- 36 credit hours of graduate studies beyond the M.Div degree as follows:
- Advance work in courses related to student's specialty -- Nine hours
- These courses are planned with a faculty member in the field of specialty. They may include seminars organized especially for S.T.M. students, M.Div. courses with advanced seminar components, and directed studies in the field of specialty.
- Thesis -- Six hours
- 80 pages in the selected field of study
- Advance work in courses related to student's specialty -- Nine hours
