Work Support

What is it?

A part-time on-campus job for students with financial need. The money is not directly applied to the Seminary invoice; instead the student will receive a paycheck at the end of each month worked.

If the student chooses to participate in the program, the award shown in the Financial Aid Contract is the maximum amount that can be earned as a Work Support employee.

Range of award?

$8.25 per hour for a maximum of ten hours each week: $2723 per year

Maintenance employees earn $9.25/hour for a total of $3053 per year

Who qualifies?

Full-time students (enrolled for nine or more credits) in a Master program, demonstrating financial need, and who are members of a church. For specifics, see the Catalog.

Students who are in a “default status” of their federal educational loans are ineligible for institutional aid.

How do I apply?

To qualify for Need-based aid; submit PTS Financial Aid Application, W2s, FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (see specifics under "How to Apply for Financial Aid")

The Work-Support award does NOT guarantee a position. After the Financial Aid Office makes the award, the student must log on the PTS web-site and submit an application. The student will be contacted by the hiring supervisor for an interview.
